See how thrilled I look in the photo above?
That’s what I feel like having to type about the sites legal stuff, but I did add some insight about how my website came to be down at the bottom of this page.
WEBSITE HISTORY & SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILES
I created my website in the Spring of 2021. The idea of the website and blog came about because of the COVID-19 lockdown. I was attending kindergarten when schools were closed because of the pandemic and the state forced students to switch to online classes. The Zoom classes were terrible and I stopped participating in the online classes offered by the local elementary school, so my parents created a homeschool curriculum.
The funny thing was at that time I didn’t understand why when I searched online for Bruno Mars he would appear in the results, but when I Googled myself nothing about me would appear; understand I was only seven years old. I told my dad I wanted my own website and creating one became part of my homeschooling. During the creation of my site I learned about web design, photo and video editing and did some simple coding. Part of my homeschooling was also learning about different artist and athletes each week and that was how my blog came to be. I started adding blog post to my website about the individuals I was learning about.
The Words of Wisdom on my about page was written by my father when he was experiencing some health issues. What is posted is the ‘Rated G’ feel good version of the original. At the time I was 6 and he was concerned enough that he felt he should write down some ‘Life Advice’ that I would have for later on in life incase he wasn’t around to offer any advice. What is written here is a small excerpt; it is the clean abbreviated version. The original 20+ pages of advice is much more entertaining, blunt and unconventional. It is raw detailed advice and much more personal. Written more directly for me specifically, so I chose to share only a generalized version of the advice the original letter offered. I’m to young to understand much of what he wrote about, I’m just glad that my dad is still around, hopefully he stays around and there will be no need for the letter.
My website is primarily designed as a online timeline that visually catalogs my life’s events and my blog postings are weekly post with images and quotes about inspiring individuals.
My multiple social profiles were also pages I created as a homeschool project during COVID. Mainly to learn about social media and share images with family & friends during the lockdown. I am not after likes or followers, my post are more of personal journal. What I write in post is for myself, more like notes for future remembrance. I only use the social sites as virtual time capsules so I can someday look back at my postings to see what I was up to in the past. I don’t participate in the social part, I rarely even look at other peoples post, I stopped doing that when the pandemic ended. I realize it is called ‘Social Media’ but for me it is ‘Memory Media’ my post are mostly to someday take a trip down memory lane. For me it’s only about preserving images and videos in the historical sense for myself, but the public is welcome to view my postings and I appreciate the followers and likes when received.
